Ever since I saw the first few advertisements for the Kinect, I have been a little skeptical. For one I am concerned that there would be noticeable lag between your actions and the system's response. Secondly, I think that the control scheme, while it is certainly innovative, would be quite limited in the types of games that could effectively use it, and therefore only a small variety of games would be released for it. As such, I am leaning towards not buying it at all. However, I would like to hear your opinions on it. Have any of you played it? Do you disagree with either, if not both, of my concerns? Am I missing out by not buying it?

Haven't played, but heard rather nasty things about it, like, it won't read the actions of tall folk, you need lots of open space for it to work, and most of the games are just Wii copycats.
I'm sure it will improve with time, but there's certainly no killer app for it, yet.

There were a lot of promises in the beginning that didn't flesh out, such as being able to "scan in" your own designs for in game customization. This was a little offputting, but I still don't have a good feel for the system. Maybe one of us should buy it to find out

Well it can't be me. 90% of the times I check, I don't even have an Xbox.

Son, I shelled out all my monies for three copies of Duke Nukem Forever. Kinect can suck my balls of titanium.
